Freddy Mazza lives in Cincinnati and attends the University of Cincinnati where he will graduate in 2023. He is serving as a co-op this summer with Signalysis. Let’s learn a little more about Freddy in this interview.
Freddy, what are your duties here at Signalysis?
My duties as a co-op are to help whenever is needed. That can be a variety of different tasks. It could be using machinery to create a specialty tool, building specialty cables, creating drawings, designing 3D models, setting up a test station to collect data, or attending an expo to talk with vendors. I never know what my day at Signalysis might look like.
Is this your first co-op term?
No, this is my final co-op term.
What do you hope to learn while at Signalysis?
My past co-op terms were with an architecture firm where I worked in the manufacturing and HVAC department. Coming to Signalysis I want to see a whole new side of engineering. Signalysis does a lot of R&D and develops special purpose products. I have enjoyed being a part of these open-ended projects where we discuss different possible solutions then execute the best options.
How has your experience with Signalysis been to date?
My experience has been educational so far for two reasons. One, I have able to use the tools I have learned in school at Signalysis. Two, every day I am learning or being exposed to something new.
What are some things about you that not many people may know?
My favorite movie is Good Will Hunting. Also, I am good at extreme sports. My main sport is skiing, and I enjoy skateboarding and wake boarding as well.
Do you like to travel? If so, where are some of your favorite destinations?
Yes, I enjoy traveling anywhere and everywhere. I like finding the uniqueness of each place I visit. I am hoping to continue my travels once I graduate from college. If I had to choose a summer trip to Michigan with my family is my favorite destination!
